French Warning To U.N. On Algeria
(N.Z. Press Association—Copyright) (Rec. 11 p.m.) NEW YORK, November 27. France said today that “thoughtless interference” by the United Nations in Algeria might prolong the three-year-old nationalist rebellion rather than end it. The French Foreign Minister, Mr Christian Pineau, told the 82-nation United Nations Political Committee that the nationalists had already lost the war and could make a comeback only with the aid of the United Nations. He rejected the Tunisian-Moroccan offer to help to bring France around a conference table with the nationalists.
