WHARF STRIKE CALLED OFF

Rec. 7 p.m.) SYDNEY, November 28.

Sydney’s waterfront crisis ended for the time being when the dockers agreed during last night's talks to resume work today pending an inquiry into their allegations.

The watersiders had imposed a ban on the Central Wharf Stevedoring Company and 'on three foremen employed by the company whom they blamed for the deregistration of a docker. The Foremen Stevedores’ Association agreed to nominate the president of the New South Wales Industrial Commission (Mr Justice Taylor) as an independent arbiter on the issue, after which the Waterside Workers’ Federation waived their bans on the company and the three foremen.
