BY CAR FROM LONDON TO KATMANDU.—Three cars, which recently completed a 42-day “pioneering” drive between London and Katmandu, the capital of Nepal, photographed near the old Royal Palace in Katmandu. The cars passed through 10 countries of Europe and Asia and travelled 7888 miles. Prince Basundhara, brother of King Mehendra and chairman of Nepal’s National Council, flew to England to inaugurate the drive—the first of its kind ever undertaken—and drove one of the cars as far as Munich. A bus service is to be established between London and Katmandu.
