Sir,—l have read with astonishment of the new scale of medical fees recommended by the B.M.A. On the figures quoted in your columns we in Springfield. 15 miles from the nearest doctor, would be due to pay £2 5s for a visit. Our friends living at Cass would have to face a charge of over £6 a visit. Is the Government going to demand the Is 6d in the £1 and do nothing to share this burden? It is no wonder that the country people are moving towards the cities. Would Mr McAlpine care to see his colleague in the Health Department before voting day.—Yours, etc.. ANXIOUS November 22, 1957. (A copy of this letter was sent t,o the Minister of Health, but no reply has been received.]
