AUSTRALIAN VISIT

No Bodyguard For Kishi (N.Z. Press Association—Copyright) CANBERRA, November 27. The Japanese Prime Minister, Mr Nobusuke Kishi, will not be accompanied by a personal bodyguard when he arrives in Perth tomorrow to begin an Australian goodwill tour. Mr Kishi did not expect any incidents in Australia, said a Japanese Embassy official, Mr Naotome Takase, today, and he had therefore made no arrangements for police protection. But Commonwealth and State police will closely guard Mr Kishi, a Commonwealth police spokesman said here today. Mr Kishi will spend Friday in and Saturday in Sydney before flying to New Zealand on Sunday. He will return to Australia next week and confer with the Prime Minister (Mr Menzies) in Canberra on December 4 and 5. Cultural Exchange Their talks will not include formal negotiations between the two countries, it was learned today. They will discuss plans for a cultural and educational exchange on which officials of the two governments have already reached argreement in principle. The Australian Government is understood to be prepared to facilitate the exhibition in major Australian cities of Japanese art. including paintings, pottery and tapestries. It is also prepared to consider a Japanese proposal that the two countries should plan the exchance of university teachers and students. At Perth, Mr Kishi will be met by the Japanese ambassador in Australia. Mr T. Suzuki. On arrival at Melbourne on Friday morning he will inspect a guard of honour at the airport before calling on the Governor of Victoria <Sir Dallas Brooks). The Premier of Victoria (Mr Henry Bolte) will give a State lunch at Parliament House, and the Lord Mayor of Melbourne (Cr. F. W. Thomas) will hold a civic reception at the Town Hall. Mr Kishi, who is a keen racegoer. will fly next morning to Sydney, where, after meeting State and civic authorities, he will watch racing at Warwick Farm. His main Australian business will be in Canberra after he returns from New Zealand. He will leave for Japan on December 6.
