RECEPTION FOR TOURISTS
English Women's Team When the English women’s cricket team arrived in Christchurch yesterday morning it was accorded a civic reception. The Mayor (Mr R. M. Macfarlane. M.P.) welcomed the team, and later entertained the cricketers to morning tea. Mrs J. Lamason. president of the New Zealand Women’s Cricket Council, also welcomed the team. The first test match of the series between the English and New Zealand women will start in Christchurch on Friday. The game, which will be played over three days, will be held at Lan- ! caster Park.
