Saudi Troops Stand By

Press Association— Copyright) AMMAN (Jordan), Nov. 26. r Ud 2 Arabian troops stationed tn Jordan have been ordered by Sau ?’ authorities to stand by to help the Jordanian Army repel any aggression from Israel, it was announced today. All leave has been cancelled lor the Saudi troops. A Saudi Arabian Government spokesman said in Riyadh yesterday that his country would be the ”f®t .t° Jordan if she was attacked.
“We are certain other Arab Stateg will join us in defending Jordan. ’ he added.
Saudi Arabia has had troops in Jordan since November last year, but their number has never been disclosed.
An official Jordanian statement' today said that Mr Dag Hammarskjold, the United Nations Secretary-General, would arrive here 0.1 Sunday for his talks with the Jordanian Government. He will spend a week here in talks primarily arising from Jordan’s announcement last Sunday that she would' not co-operate with Colonel Byron Leary, the American chief United Nations truce observer, and wanted his recall for alleged pro-Israeli bias.
