DAMAGED FISHING BOAT
Diane Beached For Repairs (New Zealand Preu Axaoeiatton, INVERCARGILL, November 26. Pumps and other gear flown in to Dusky Sound yesterday saved the Bluff fishing vessel Diane from almost certain destruction. Although the Diane was in reasonable shelter on the rocks on Passage Island between Anchor Island and Indian Island it is considered she would have broken up long before help would have been available by sea. The Diane last night was patched, lifted, and pumped out, and is now beached at Luncheon Cove, where she will be repaired by her Port Chalmers skipper, Mr W. Tubman, and his crew. As soon as possible she will be towed to Port Chalmers—where she will be refitted—by the Ashing vessel Koromiko.
