Experts of the Department of Agriculture will combine with farmer members to form the committees and the Wanganui committee will include representation from the Marton area. The location of the committees will mean that they will cover the coastal belt, the hill country inland from the coast and the higher Waimarino plain area. Departmental approaches have been along the line of watching certain variations of temperature from the average of those at the corresponding times in the previous 10 years. Wanganui farmers have developed a study of-the correlation of the minimum grass temperature and the maximum air temperature.
