LAMBS KILLED BY DOG
Flocks Worried At Amberley A dog which has killed about 30 fcnbs on three properties in the Amberley district has not yet been destroyed. The dog killed about six lambs co the Ardross estate, managed by Mr A. G. Sheridan, on the night of August 8, and it worried the ewes as well. Mr Sheridan found the flock crowded on to one ipur in a hill paddock. On August 22, six lambs were found dead on the farm of Mr G. E. Fergus, two miles from Amberley, and 14 more were found dead on August 25. Also on August 22, one lamb from a small nob of five ewes and seven lambs in a boundary paddock of Mr J. T. Wyllie, just over the fence from where the dead lambs were found on Mr Fergus’s property, was killed.
Although only 25 or 26 dead hmbs have been found, Mr Sieridan is sure the dog killed ad carried away several more iambs from his mob on August 8. There were far fewer lambs than there- should have been and his sispicions were further aroused *hen he found four old ewes Bothering a single lamb.
