Golf Thomson In Form In Kentucky Tourney

Peter Thomson, Australian holder of the British open championship, returned a 68, three under scratch, in the second round of the Kentucky Derby open golf tournament today. Thomson, who had a 69 yesterday, was tied in second place with Jack Fleck, one stroke behind the leader, Bill Casper. Casper, who had a first round 68, had another 68 today for 136. Fleck also had a 68 today to add to his first round of 69. Art Wall scored a 66 today, the lowest round of the tournament so far, and was in fourth place at 138. Johnny Pott scored a hole-in-one at the 229-yard fifth, to give him an aggregate of 142. Thomson almost had a hole-in-one at the 187-yard sixteenth, his - tee shot rimming the cup.
