Markets More Active And Buoyant

Markets were more active on the Christchurch Stock Exchange yesterday, when five parcels of Government stock and a moderate volume of wellassorted shares and rights changed hands.

Colonial Sugar, in their first local business of the year, made a good gain in business at £34 12s 6d, 2s fid below the top price paid in Auckland on Tuesday. Other gains were made by Commercial Bank of Australia, Bank of N.S.W., Dominion Breweries rights, South British Insurance, Dominion Builders and Woolworths.
