YOUTH WORK
Sir, —Without disparagement of other approaches, we shall never come to grips with our youth problems until they are dealt with at Ministerial level, as national. Youth’s predicament, as ours, is a question of idle brains, not feet. They are the pioneers of the brave new world' science envisages. Their dreams, though fantas-tic-seeming to us, are coming true. They must be assisted towards a proper realisation of their meaning. What to us is their spare time will occupy an ever-increasing amount of their lives. It is our job, as elders, to lead them to spend it both profitably and wisely. A Ministry for Youth Progress could cope on the scale necessary.—Yours, etc., FRANCIS WM. HEAL. September 21, 1956.
