STOP SIGNS
Sir,—l could almost hear “Old Faithful’s’’ letter coming! Of course there are traffic officers to deal with people who ignore the “stop” signs: but. quite obviously and through no dereliction of duty on their part, the task is beyond their powers. If it is in the general interest that children in large numbers should be encouraged to flout the regulations—well, as perhaps “Old Faithful” would say—“ She’s right.”— Yours, etc., M.T.
