EASY WIN FOR SIR WILLIAM
(N.Z. Press Association—Copyright) MELBOURNE, January 2. Overseas jockeys filled the first three places in the £3OOO International Stakes at Caulfield on Saturday. The Queen’s jockey, W. H. Carr, rode the former New Zealand horse. Sir William, to victory, beating Brookon (Adams, United States) and Blonde Bascillia (H. Wright, South Africa). Carr timed Sir William’s run superby to get to the front 100 yards from the post. Result:— INTERNATIONAL STAKES, Of £3OOO. One milfe and a half. SIR WILLIAM 8-10 .. W. H. Carr 1 Brookon 7-12 .. J. Adams 2 Blonde Bascillia 8-2 .. H. Wright 3 Eleven started. Half a length; length and a half. Time. 2min 37Jsec. Betting: 3 to 1, 25 to 1, 14 to 1.
