Captain J. J. Brownlee has retired from his post of consultant surgeon in maxillo-facial and plastic surgery to the Army, Navy, and Air Force. He has been posted on the retired list with the rank of lieutenant-colonel
Mr H. L. Peryman, for the last eight years chief inspector of explosives and cinema films for the Department of Internal Affairs, has been appointed second assistant secretary of the department.—(P.A.) Mr H. M. Rankin, head brewer of Ballins Breweries, has returned from Australia after attending the third annual convention of the Australian section of the British Institute of Brewing in Melbourne.
Mr F. E. Waterworth has been appointed a member of the Loburn Domain Board. Mr B. J. Edwards has been appointed to the Fairlie board.
Messrs E. A. Field, W. T. Herron, W. W. Nelson, and T. E. Pearson have been appointed producers’ representatives on the New Zealand Honey Marketing Authority.
