The site of the cabin will be near Spencerville road./ Water Supply Loans.— Special orders forlhe raising of Bryndwr, Middleton anr Papanui water supply loans, totalling £25,000, were confirmed by the c/uncil. At a special meeting, the Council approved the raising of the Burnside Road Memorial Highway Hoan, authorised by the Local Government Loans Board. Waterworks Foreman.— Mr L. H. Esplin, of Rotorua, was appointed as waterworks foreman for the county. He will oversee the installation of the county’s new water supply system under the direction of the council’s consulting engineer. Potato Crisp Factory.— lf no neighbours object, a New Zealander, at present in Hong Kong, will establish a potdto crisp factory in Angela street,. Upper Riccarton. The building, according to the application before the county council, will be built so as to be convertible to a motor garage. Spencer Park.— “ What are fire arrangements at Spencer Park?” asked Cr. E. R. Stead. “Rain,” said Cr. A. R. Blank. The county engineer (Mr D. P. McLellan) then said he would arrange for the caretaker there to have haversack sprays and beaters available for fire fighting. Arrangements for the erection of conveniences at the park will be made, and the council also approved charges for caravan sites and picnics at the park. Library Site Refused.— The Minister of Lands (Mr E. B. Corbett) has confirmed his refusal of the council’s application to erect a library on a reserve in Otara street. In a letter to the council, he said he upheld objections that the reserve should be used as a road or retained for this purpose.
