INDUSTRIAL HEALTH CLINIC

DEPARTMENT SEEKING SITE AT HORNBY An industrial health clinic will, be set up at Hornby. It will be equipped by the Health Department with funds from the Workers’ Compensation Board. The District Medical Officer of Health (Dr. A. Douglas) said yesterday that he would approach the Paparua County Council and the Lands and Survey Department for help in finding a suitable site for the clinic. The Health Department, which had authorised negotiations for land, had suggested that a site might be found in a triangle of land between the Crown Crystal Glass Company and Kempthome Prosser and Company’s chemical works. The site would have to be near the main road and close to sewer and water connexions

Christchurch already has two industrial health centres. One is at Woolston and the other on the Lyttelton waterfront.
