Sir Robert MacKenzie, a British diplomat, left by Skymaster for Sydney yesterday after a' holiday visit te New Zealand tourist resorts. Sir Robert MacKenzie served in the British Embassy in Paris in 1944, the Foreri* Office in 1946, the Washington Erabassy in 1948. and in the Foreign Offic* again in 1951. The Secretary for Justice and Con-troller-General of Police (Mr S. T Barnett) will leave by air on Sunw for Australia. He arrived in Auckland yesterday. Mr Barnett will represent Neyr Zealand at international conferences this month and month.—(P.A.) Mr R. S. Thomas, who was formed? national secretary of the Printing Related Trades Union, and who hs» been on the staff of the Government Printing and Stationery Departa®* since 1952, has been appointed per* l ®’ nel manager. He succeeds Mr ft Brazendale, who has retired after ” years with the department.
