CROSS-COUNTRY TITLES

TIMARU RUNNERS NOW ELIGIBLE South Canterbury representatives will now be able to represent Canterbury at the New Zealand championships at Rosewill, Timaru, today. As the South Canterbury registration and club affiliations due to the New Zealand Amateur Athletic Association were outstanding, the Canterbury cross-country running management committee on Wednesday evening ruled that the sub-centre members of the .Canterbury team would be ineligible under N.Z.A.A.A. rules, and that their members would be replaced bv registered runners unless the outstanding dues were received yesterday. The Canterbury committee treasurer (Mr G. Currie) announced last evening that the outstanding dues had been paid and that as the South Canterbury runners now met the association’s requirements they would be permitted to compete at the championships.
