JEWELLERY FIRM’S ANNIVERSARY Fifty years ago the firm of Watsons Jewellers. Ltd., was fbunded in Christ, chureh, and to celebrate the occasion Mrs E. M. Watson, widow of the founder, entertained about 45 staff members and friends at a theatre party and supper party last evening. During the evening Mrs Watson presented the manager of the Arm, Mr A. E. Smail, who has been on the staff for 36 years, with a silver cigarette box. On behalf of the staff, Mr Small presented Mrs Watson with a silver salver. Cablegrams of congratulation from jewellers’ firms in Britain and many telegram? from business associates in New Zealand were received at Watson’s two shops yesterday. Mrs Watson, who was accompanied by her daughter, and son-in-law, Mr and Mrs John Patrick, wore a fulllength frock of turquoise blue silk under a coat of black velvet and a grey squirrel cape. Mrs Patrick wore a powder blue tunic over a full-length black silk skirt.
