U.S. PLANES FOR FORMOSA DUTY
(N.Z. Press Association—Copyright) (Rec. 8 p.m.) TOKYO, July 4. United States Air Force headquarters announced today that FB6 Sabre jets of the 67th Fighter-Bomber Squadron had been transferred from Okinawa to Formosa for “temporary training duty.” The unit which moved to Formosa yesterday replaced the 16th FighterInterceptor Squadron which returned to its home base at Naha, Okinawa. The announcement said the move was part of the sth Air Force “mobility manoeuvres” which began during the crisis in the Formosa Straits earlier this year. The 67th Squadron has already had one temporary tour of duty on Formosa this year.
