Mr Bevan in Labour Shadow Cabinet

(Rec. 8 p.m.) LONDON, June 24. Mr Aneurin Bevan and his Leftwing associates won a victory in the Labour Party last night by increasing their “shadow cabinet” representation from one to three members.

In elections for 12 places in the “shadow cabinet,” three chosen were Mr Bevan, Mr Harold Wilson, and Mr Anthony Greenwood. Mr Greenwood, although not officially labelled a Bevanite, is considered sympathetic to Left-wing views.

The official list of those elected, was: Mr James Griffiths. Mr Hugh Gaitskell, Mr L. J. Callaghan, Mr Alfred Robens, Mr Harold Wilson, Dr. Edith Summerskill, Mr Aneurin Bevan, Mr George Brown, Mr Philip Noel-Baker, Mr Anthony Greenwood, Mr R. Richardson, and Mr G. R. Mitchison.
