International Wool Secretariat
(N.Z. Press Association—Copyright) LONDON, June 6. The executive of the International Wool Publicity and Research Fund, controlling the International Wool Secretariat, is planning further expansion of the secretariat’s activities. The executive announced at the close of its meeting in London today their decision to recommend that close consideration be given to expanding activities in Austria and other countries in Europe, and that the position of wool and wool promotion in South America also be examined. Wool production in Australia, New Zealand and South Africa had again increased, and early reports indicated a further rise in the amount available for world markets. Mr Jan H. Moolman, chairman of the South African Wool Board, was re-elected chairman of the executive. Mr C. B. Ball, chairman of the Australian Wool Bureau, and Mr W. Horrobin, chairman of the New Zealand Wool Board, were re-elected executive vice-chairmen. The chairman of the International Wool Secretariat, Mr L. Francis Hartley (South Africa), was also re-elected.
