PLOT ON LIFE OF HITLER
Films Being Made In Germany (N.Z. Press Association—Copyright) LONDON, June 7. German films are being made about the resistance movement to Hitler, which culminated in the attempt on his life on July 20, 1944,, says the Bonn correspondent of the “Manchester Guardian.” The films are being made by companies in Berlin and Munich, and the Berlin version should be showing in German cinemas at the end of this month. The adviser to the Berlin company, General Von Gersdorff, took part in the resistance to Hitler, and was lucky to escape with his life. He had been largely responsible for the opposition of most of the survivors to making the film at all. He regards it as a unique chance of telling the German public about the true motives of the men of July 20. Opponents of the film claim that the German film industry is hardly competent to deal with such a psychologically difficult problem as the resistance to Hitler.
