Assassination In Syria

(N.Z. Press Association—Copyright.) DAMASCUS, April 26. Colonel Adnan Malki, deputy Chief of Staff of the Syrian Army, was shot dead by a sergeant at a football match. The assassin then shot himself. Colonel Malki played a key role in the overthrow 14 months ago of the Syrian “Strong Man” President, Mr Adib Shislakly, by a group of Army leaders.
