BEAU DON MAY BE RETIRED The brilliant Australian pacer. Beau Don, will probably be retired in the near future, says “Trotguide.” At his latest start. Beau Don won the £3OOO Easter Cup at Gloucester Park, Western Australia. His trainer-driver, W. Foy. said after the race that although the six-year-old had won the race gamely, he appeared to be “on the way out.” “He has been racing since 1951, and altogether has had 57 starts,” said Foy. • Beau Don, which started from the back mark of 24 yards in the Easter Cup, made his usual dash to run up to the leaders in the last lap, but he was fully extended m his effort to take the lead. He stuck to his task, however, and managed to beat the pacemaker, Jack Oro, by three yards. Foy said afterwards that Beau Don was weakening when approaching the post, and if Jack Oro had had anything in reserve, he might have won. Ashburton Classic Entries ~ ntr A? s for the N.Z.
