The horses were in their boxes at 10.30 p.m. on Wednesday, and at 6.30 a.m. yesterday it was noticed that they were missing. An extensive search was made yesterday, and they were found at Hornby early yesterday afternoon by a Riccarton apprentice, D. Finnie. It is thought that Reformed and Some Bounder were taken from their boxes about 11.30 p.m. on Wednesday. About that time, a girl in a neighbouring house heard horses being lea down a. driveway on to the road, and heard someone say, "Whoa boy, to one oi the horses. . _ . „ When found, Reformed and Some Bounder were showing sweat marks, but were Apparently unharmed. Both hav? engagements .in the Peerswick Hurdles at Riccarton tomorrow. This race will be Reformed’s debut as a jumper. Reformed, the Wellington Cup winner in 1952, and a minor place-getter in Melbourne and New Zealand Cups, is trained at Wingatul by his owner, Mr A. J. Brown. H. A. Anderton trains Some Bounder for Mr J. M. Samson, a well-known Dunedin owner.
