TWO SISTERS DROWNED
SWEPT OFF ROCK WHILE FISHING (New Zealand Press Association) AUCKLAND, February 24. Two middle-aged women lost their lives by drowning off White Rock, near Port Waikato, about 2.30 p.m. today. They were: Isabella Lttnam, a widow, of Dominion road, Tuakau; and Elleeyg Morgan, wife of Mr Thomas Morgan, a taxi proprietor, of Tuakau. -They were among a party of four fishing from the rocks on the sea coast south of Port Waikato, and were swept from the rocks by a wave. The others in the party were Mr Morgan an ?r his dau Bfiter, Miss Ena Morgan. Mrs Lunam and Mrs Morgan were sisters. KILLED IN FALL FROM ROOF (New Zealand. Press Association) , GISBORNE,- February 24. Charles Henry Moran, aged '66, marr>ed.en*Ployed as a station hand by ■ Berry, Tiniroto, was killed in a yesterday afternoon. Mr Moran was painting the roof of the shearers’ quarters on the property when he fell nine feet to the ground. He came into contact with a wire, which broke his fall. Mr Moran was dead before the arrival of the ambulance.
