COMMODORE MADDEN ON FAREWELL TOUR

(New Zealand Press Association) WELLINGTON, February 24.

The Chief of the Naval Staff (Commodore Sir Charles Madden) left Wellington for the South Island tonight on his official farewell visit to South Island reserve divisions. In Christchurch he will address the Navy League, visit the Reserve establishment, H.M.N.Z.S. Pegasus, and inspect the ship’s company and sea cadets. On March 3 he will address the Overseas League at Timaru. He will then travel to Dunedin for inspections. He will be accompanied by Captain (S) R. A. J. Owen and the Director of- Reserves and Mobilisation Command (Commander J. D. Keay),
