CHRISTCHURCH DRAINAGE BOARD < CHRISTCHURCH DRAINAGE BOARD SEWERAGE LOAN NO. 1, 1954—£800,000 NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that at a Special Meeting at the Christchurch Drainage Board called for that purpose and held at the Office of the Board in the City of Christchurch on the 27th day of January, 1955, the said Board DID RESOLVE:— THAT in pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it by the Christchurch District Drainage Act, 1951, the Local Bodies Loans Act, 1926, the Local Bodies Loans Amendment Act, 1951, and all amendments thereto, and all other Acts (if any) it in that behalf enabling, and by virtue of the sanction of the Local Government Loans Board granted at a meeting of that Board held on the 15th day of December, 1954, the CHRISTCHURCH DRAINAGE BOARD at a Special Meeting called for that purpose and held at the Office of the Board in the City of Christchurch on the 27th day of January. 1955, DOTH RESOLVE, by way of Special Order: 1. That the Christchurch Drainage Board proceed to raise a loan of Eight Hundred Thousand Pounds (£800,000) for the purpose of providing trunk sewers, pumping stations, and rising mains within the drainage district. 2. That such loan be known as the Sewerage Loan No. 1, 1954, hereinafter called the said loan. 3. That the term for which the said loan or any part thereof may be borrowed shall be 10 years. 4. That the rate of interest that may be paid in respect of the said loan or any part thereof shall be such as shall not. produce to the lender or lenders a rate exceeding 4 per cent, per annum. s*That the said loan or any part thereof shall be repaid by annual redemption of debentures in the years set out in the first column of the schedule hereunder of the amounts stated opposite each such year in the second column of the said schedule. 7. That the rate payable for brokerage, , underwriting, and procuration fees in re- . spect of the raising of the said loan or any part therof shall not in the aggregate exceed one-half per cent, of any amount raised. 8. That no moneys shall be borrowed under this sanction after the expiration of two years from the date of the Order in , Council consenting to the loan. 9. That the security for the said loan to provide interest and redemptions be a special rate of five sixteenths (5/16ths) of a penny in the pound to be levied on the capital rateable value of all rateable property within that part of the Christchurch Drainage District described in Schedule C, and in Schedule B as altered from time to time in terms of Section s(f) of the Christchurch District Drainage Amendment Act, 1922, and Section 60 of the Christchurch District Drainage Act, 1951, to a resolution of the Board dated the 17th day of April, 1923, and published in the New Zealand Gazette No. 37 of the 26th day of April, 1923. AND NOTICE IS FURTHER GIVEN that the foregoing Resolution will be submitted to an Ordinary Meeting of the Board to be held at the Office of tne Board, 198 Hereford street, Christchurch, on Tuesday, the 15th day of March, 1955, at 8 o’clock p.m. for confirmation. AND NOTICE IS FURTHER GIVEN that a poll of Ratepayers in the area above described is required to be taken if 5 per cent, of such Ratepayers so demand by writing under their hands delivered or sent by post to the Board before the date fixed for confirmation. 3. That the term for which the said loan or any part thereof may be borrowed shall be v ten years.

4. That the rate of interest that may be paid in respect of the said loan or any part thereof shall be such as shall not produce to the lender or lenders a rate exceeding four per cent, per annum. 5, That the said loan or any part thereof shall be repaid by annual redemption of debentures in the years set out in the first column of the Schedule hereunder of the amounts stated opposite each such year in the second column of the said schedule.
