Lyttelton Harbour Loan
The Lyttelton Harbour Loan and Empowering Bill, 1955, was approved in principle oy the Riccarton Borough Council at its meeting this week. The provisions of the bill were not discussed, and the motion of the Mayor (Mr E. J. Bradshaw) that the bill should be approved in principle was carried unanimously. “My own view of this loan, which I think I am right in saying has a maximum rating authority of 3-8 d in the £, is that it should be approved in principle at this stage,” said Mr Bradshaw. “I do not think we should block progress of this «»atux% N be said.
