REGATTA AT STEWART’S GULLY TODAY
Although the Waimakariri river is not 1° be^ dow " L to its normal level until Monday, the Christchurch Regatta Club will hold its rowing regatta at Stewart’s Gully today. The first race will be at 12.30 p.m. For the senior eights race five entries were received by the club at a meeting on Thursday. It was reported that the Timaru Club would enter a crew if a boat was made available. There are 73 entries compared with 63 in last year’s regatta. Following are the entries for each race:— Event 1, Senior Pairs, 12.30 p.m.—Avon, Canterbury No. 1 and 2, North End (Dunedin). Petone, Union. Maiden Fours.—Canterbury, Star (Wellington), Petone, Timaru, Union. Youths’ Sculls.—Avon. Canterbury, Cure (Kaiapol), Oamaru, Star, Petone, Timaru, Union.
