Abadan Refinery To Resume

(New Zealand Press Association) TEHERAN, October 24. The Persian Parliament has now ratified the oil agreement reached between Persia and an international consortium to restore the flow of Persian oil to world markets. Persian oil production was brought to a virtual halt in 1951 when Dr. Mussadiq, the former Premier, who is now in gaol for treason, nationalised the Persian holdings of the AngloIranian Oil Company. The ratification of a 40-year pact means that the huge Abadan refinery, the biggest in the world, will resume operations on November 1.
