Vandalism in Railway Yards Smashing windows and breaking interior fittings, vandals damaged 10 carnages and one van at the Invercargill railway yards during the week-end. An effort was made yesterday morning to patch up some of the cars for use on special holiday trains but it was not possible to repair all of them. Three carriages had to be removed from the first special tram travelling to the Otautau sports and because of this accommodation on the tram was cramped. Carriages on some of the trains for Otautau and Blmlf went out with patched windows
