Commitment By Britain
(Rec. 10 p.m.) PARIS. October 23. Britain’s commitment of four Army divisions and one Tactical Air. Force on the Continent until 1998 is embodied in a protocol signed today. It contains the pledge which Sir Anthony Eden gave the London conference last month that Britain would not withdraw her forces save in the event of an acute overseas emergThe protocol says that the strength of these land and air contingents, like the limits set for France West Germany Italy, Belgium, and the Netherlands under the old European Defence Community Treaty, will not be excecded.
