RADIO RECEPTION INTERFERENCE

COMPLAINTS BY DX LEAGUE (New Zealand 'Press Association) DUNEDIN. October 24. “The New Zealand Radio DX League’s efforts to have interference to radio reception reduced to an absolute minimum are gaining support throughout the country,” said Mr J. F. Fox, the president, at a meeting of the Otago branch of the DX League. He was commenting on a letter from the New Zealand Radio-Television and Electrical Traders’ Association in which the association offered its strongest support to have the interference cleared up. Radio organisations and power authorities in New Zealand are pressing for action by the Govern nent to eliminate the increasing intjr crence to radio reception caused ’ y overhead electric power lines, and appliances. The Postmaster-General had informed the league that the radio interference committee was to meet in August, but no information had been given of the committee’s reaction to resolutions passed at the protest meeting held in Dunedin in July, said Mr Fox. The DX League has written for information but so far no reply has been received.
