PAPANUI BEAUTIFYING ASSOCIATION
The Papanui Beautifying Association held its annual meeting recently and in a report presented at the meeting, the association recorded its disapproval of the architecture of some of the public buildings recently built in the Papanui district. Mr E. Rodgers, district organiser for the City Council’s street competition, gave an address, which was illustrated by coloured slides. Officers elected were: patron, Mr M. W. Simes; president, Mrs J. N. Oliver; vice-presidents, Messrs J. Sturrock, D. Moran; secretary and treasurer, Mrs H. Quirk; committee. 12 were elected.
