Jugoslav-Czech Barter Deal
(N.Z. Press Association—Copyright) BELGRADE, Aug. 11. A barter deal between the Jugoslav and Czechoslovak Chambers of Commerce worth £1.250,000 was concluded in Vienna yesterday, the official Jugoslav news agency Tanjug reported today. The Jugoslavs are to supply agricultural products such as meat, wine, tobacco, and fruit, in exchange for Czech industrial raw materials, electrical products, and machinery. Deliveries are to be made by the end of this year, Jugoslavia has had no trade relations with Czechoslovakia since 1948, when the Soviet Bloc imposed an economic blockade on Jugoslavia, but this year commercial contacts have been resumed with Hungary and East Germany. and a Jugoslav agricultural delegation is at present visiting the Agricultural Fair at Moscow.
