TRAINING OF NAVAL RESERVISTS
COURSES ON FRIGATE AND MINESWEEPERS (New Zealand Press Association) AUCKLAND, August 11. Compulsory naval reservists in Auckland, Wellington, and Christchurch will go to sea next month for training in the minesweepers Kiwi and Tui and the frigate Hawea. The Tui, now completing a refit, will sail from Auckland on August 31 for Lyttelton to take Canterbury reservists to sea for two weeks. The Kiwi will sail on August 21 with Auckland reservists for sea training in the Hauraki Gulf. After a week at sea the Kiwi will return to take another batch to sea for another week. The Hawea will sail on September 22 for Wellington to give sea training to Wellington reservists, then sail for Lyttelton to take more Christchurch trainees to sea.
