Church Buys Timber Land
One of the last big stands of native timber in North Auckland where milling will be allowed is to be sold to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints as the result of a Maori Land Court order at Kaikohe recently. The millable timber extends over 2300 acres on the Kohutaka block, south of Hokianga and near the coast. Several hundred Maori owners are interested in the area.
