MINOR FIRES
A chimney fire at a house at 28 Mansfield avenue, owned by Mr J. F. McLaughlan, caused no damage yesterday before it was put out by one unit from the St. Albans fire station. The call was received at 2.52 p.m. At 1 a.m. yesterday a heap of straw burning in the middle of Gloucester street, near Stanmore road, was dealt with by one unit from headquarters.
