SEA DAMAGE AT SUMNER
FINANCING PROTECTIVE WORKS (From Our Parliamentary Reporter) WELLINGTON, August 11. Fuller details of proposed protective measures at Sumner were awaited from the Christchurch City Council, and the Government would then consider financial assistance, said the Minister of Works (Mr W. S. Goosman) in the House of Representatives today to a question asked by Mr H. R. Lake (Government, Lyttelton). The Government, he added, had already made available advice and cooperation by Ministry of Works officials.
TRAINING OF PUPIL MALE NURSES (From Our Parliamentary Reporter) WELLINGTON. August 11. Hie Nurses’ and Midwives’ Board hoped to be able to complete by August 20 the syllabus for a three-year course of training for pupil male nurses, said the Minister of Health (Mr J. R. Marshall) when replying today in the House of Representatives to a question asked by Miss M. B. Howard (Opposition, Sydenham).
