SOUTHLAND TO PLAY AT ASHBURTON

The representative fixture between Southland and Mid-Canterbury will start at the Ashburton Showgrounds today at 2.45 p.m. A curtain-raiser between midget teams from the Allenton and Ashburton East Schools will be played at 2 p.m., the referee being Mr R. O. McDowell Mr K. V. Hood (Ashburton) has been appointed to control the main game. The Southland team for the match is the same as that which beat Otago, 1413, at Carisbrook last Saturday, with the exception that R. A. Harrington replaces D V.
