TRUCK CAPSIZES
MAN KILLED; TWO INJURED
(New Zealand Press Association) GISBORNE, June 11. A man was fatally injured and two others suffered serious injuries when a truck capsized near Muriwai, 14 miles froYn Gisborne, about 7 p.m. today. The man killed was Hemi Maynard, of Manutuke. Those injured are Wallace Rewi and Pini Nikora. both of Manutuke.
The three men were travelling to Gisborne in a truck driven by Gordon Crosby, a builder. After the accident the three injured men were rushed to the Cook Hospital, Gisborne. Mr Maynard died in the hospital about 10.30 p.m.
MISHAP IN STATE COAL MINE
ROPE SERIOUSLY INJURES DEPUTY (From Our Own Reporter) GREYMOUTH, June 11. Robert Daynes, aged 53. married, of 3 Seven-Mile road, Runanga, a mine deputy, suffered serious injury when he was struck heavily by a rope in the Liverpool State mine. He was in a 10-a-time jig in the mine when the heavy rope used to take full coal boxes out of the jig suddenly tightened. It jerked into the air as it took the strain of the boxes and struck
