ANTICOMMUNIST DRIVE
Italy Plans Drastic Action (Rec. 9 p.m.) ROME, March 19. The Italian Government will conduct an all-out drive against communism, it was announced yesterday, after a meeting of the Cabinet. Action will be taken in all fields, from the removal of Communist civil servants to the ousting of Communist organisations from the former Fascist buildings which they have used as headquarters since the war. Cultural relations ltaly and all Iron Curtain countries will be restricted exclusively to Government level.
Financial action, which is also to be taken, will seriously affect the Communists, as a large proportion of the party’s funds come in the form of commission, direct or indirect, on trade with Iron Curtain countries.
