DRIVERS’ LICENCES
Sir, —I notice “One of Them” writing . about driving licences for those over 70 years. Can any one tell us why those over 70 should be penalised to the extent they are to get their drivers’ licences. I think when a man gets to 70 years he has had enough experience and enough sense to drive sensibly. I think ,if you take a look at the age of those connected with accidents you will have a job to find one over 70. When one gets to that age one knows his own ability without being so penalised.—Yours, etc., ANOTHER OF THEM. March 19, 1954.
