WINNER OF TASMAN YACHT RACE
WELCOME TO TAIHOA AT LYTTELTON TODAY Members of the Lyttelton Harbour Board will take part in the welcome to tho Taihoq, winner of the Tasman yacht race, on her arrival at Lyttelton this afternoon, The pilot launch Wairangi, with board members and officials on board, will leave on the arrival of the 1.15 p.m. train from Christchurch, and will meet the Taihoa down the harbour. The chairman of the Harbour Board <Mr F. E. Sutton) will welcome the crew, and the Wairangi will escort the yacht up the harbour. , The Lyttelton Marine Band will be in attendance.
On reaching the landing stage of the Banks Peninsula Cruising Club, the crew will be welcomed bv the Mayer of Lyttelton (Mr F. G. Briggs), and a recetition will be held. The Mayor of Christchurch (Mr R. M. Marfarlane. M.P.) will be present.
