Mr Justice Owen, in the Supreme Court, today refused to order the Sydney Morning Herald,” one of Sydney s two morning newspapers, to give tiem? 01106 information on B raft allegaHe held he had no jurisdiction to make an order and adjourned an application by the newspaper for costs against the Crown. In a reserved judgment, he rejected the first application made by the Crown under the Sydney City Council (Disclosure of Allegations) Act. Before reserving judgment in open hearing last week, Mr Justice Owen said the act was far-reaching and not limited to newspapers.
