RUGBY FOOTBALL
ALL BLACKS ISSUED WITH GEAR (New Zealand. Press Association) WELLINGTON, October 12. The All Blacks were issued today with clothes and other equipment for their tour, which will begin on Thursday. They expressed satisfaction with their new wardrobes. The last of the All Blacks to reach Wellington were those from Otago and Southland, who arrived tonight. Supervising the distribution of the gear were several members of the New Zealand Rugby Union, including the chairman (Mr C. S. Hogg), the secretary (Mr G. H. Geddes), and the chairman of the outfitting sub-committee (Mr T. C. Morrison). FAREWELL SOCIAL TO ALL - BLACK CAPTAIN The 1953 All Black captain, R. C. Stuart, was bidden farewell at a social and dance attended by about 150 fellow staff members of the Department of Agriculture and by other friends. He was presented with a cheque, and best wishes for a successful tour were ex-: pressed by the chairman of the department’s social club.
